Tarot 11.11 - 11.17
Justice and The Empress show up as a balm to combative, manic energy, but they certainly have their work cut out for them.
Monday, November 11th
Some happy little faerie seems to be stumbling around at sunrise in Care Bear land, but honestly, I’ll take it after last week. His adorable star wand doubles as a living vine, it would seem, indicating a sprouting of new ambitions or activities that might take a long journey to fully realize. The Ace of Wands is a fiery, Mars-aligned card about a new desire or drive, one that has lit a match under some folks and sparked a flame of insouciance. He has the vibe of an Aries who, after a night of bar hopping, goes to the airport intoxicated and gets on a plane to Iceland, simply because he always wanted to. The moonstone that accompanies him asks us to reach for compassion as we stare the barrel of this journey down, because the entity leading us is full of combative, hot-headed energy. We might be able to intuit a smoother path if we trust our instincts, so be wary of gaslighting. There is a long road ahead, and it might not mean a physical trip - many of us will take cerebral or spiritual trips. Enjoy the ketamine.

Cool. Cool, cool, cool, cool. Like the pinpoint on a map, this kitty represents ourselves as it hangs suspended from his own thoughts, a series of angry knives preventing any full retreat from his psyche. Six of Knives in reverse shows us avoiding some consequence and refusing to accept certain notions or messages, up to and including avoiding our mailboxes. Knives/swords often have a mercurial vibe and align with the air signs of the western zodiac, so they can indicate strained or combative communication. Six, in particular stresses an Aquarian habit of refusing any conclusion other than his own; by doing so, he prolongs the strife of the Five of Swords. The matching lapis lazuli is a stone of truth, and prominent, soothing blues activate our healing throat energy. Self-care, people. Drink some tea, take a bath, and face this thing.

Turquoise, often associated with Aquarius, colors this Eight of Swords in reverse, flipping poor Einstein on his head and bringing out his worst qualities. (Maybe don’t cheat on your wife.)This is erratic genius at the end of the sanity rope; we have so much knowledge that we are paralyzed. A chess piece, a violin, and mathematical equations jockey for focus and illustrate the stunning executive dysfunction that this card represents. A companion quartz amplifies thought and speech, which jives with the Mercury/Saturn square going on above us. There so many ideas flying about the collective that the din is nearly unbearable - we are being counterproductive, which has resulted in stasis.

Fertility curls around the metamorphic figure of The Empress in the form of leafy vines and vitality shows in the staunchness of her long femur bone. Her lungs and heart beat with pink blood, filling her with creativity and love, so a Venusian influence may improve the landscape within interpersonal relationships or our bank accounts. This card aligns with the sign of Taurus, the house our full moon happens to be traipsing through at this very moment, so watch for revelations in the realms of art, romance, and wealth. A pink tourmaline indicates generative compassion; nurturing something or someone will end in good fortune.

The heart of Libra anchors the chain of Justice, stretched to the side like scales. There are echoes of the Egyptian deity Ammit in the bare, reptilian skull; her jaws await the signal of an imbalanced scale, and we won’t know our fate until we are weighed against the feather.
Everything has been stacked on a scale and weighed in an area of our lives, and we are desperate for some sort of denouement. Fighting for our morality is getting exhausting. Tension between two sides might be mitigated under this Venus influence, as long as a fair solution can be reached. Purpurite strengthens our instincts and brings abundance, so something generative in the realm of housing or finance could occur, as long as we can see it through.
Saturday, November 16th
More communicative Libra energy comes at us through a Boudicca-like figure dispensing justice with two swords. The Queen of Swords is whip smart and doesn’t mess around when she is motivated, often appearing when we are wrestling with an idea or fighting some intellectual battle against others. Amazonite motivates us to argue with integrity and underscores a need in this moment for Venusian diplomacy, although it is certainly a scarce resource. Back up any argument you must make today with cold, indisputable facts. Pay attention to your book nerd friend, too, the one that always gives sage advice; they might have necessary information or provide needed back-up.

Amethyst has a surprisingly fun reputation for preventing inebriation, so much so that ancient Greek revelers would drink wine from amethyst-studded chalices. It was believed they could continue to celebrate Dionysus without face planting in the grape leaf platter and breaking up the disco line, as long as they had access to sufficient levels of the purple quartz. I’ve never tested the theory.
The Moon is showing up for the second consecutive week, echoing the Pisces energy beaming down from both Neptune and Saturn, which obliterates boundaries while veiling ugly truths. Two crows are facing off beneath her orbit, and we do not know which is right and which is wrong; who is lying and who is being truthful. They look the same. Our full moon is a glowing saucer in darkness, but the crows are charcoal shadows in her beam. They are two sides of one coin, yin and yang, but we fail to acknowledge it. Deception or misrepresentation is happening somewhere along the pipeline, and we may need to invoke the sobriety of amethyst to suss out truth. Why get drunk on lies?
